Claudia Neal-Shaw is a human super-connector. She’s an ex-lawyer turned entrepreneur who once dreamt of “wearing sneakers every day and turning up to a job that lit her up from the inside out.”
So she fled her corporate cubicle to become an entrepreneur. She realised that many female business owners get stuck communicating their value and that with her legal and marketing background, she was uniquely positioned to help.
She’s subsequently supported hundreds of women to break through their confidence barriers and propel themselves and their businesses forward.
In this conversation, Claudia talks about pushing yourself outside your comfort zone to make things happen, speaking up for yourself and the power of authentic connections and storytelling for building your self-confidence.
Highlights:
- Being brave enough to “call it”: Measuring the gap between expectations and reality starting out on her career path and recognising the need to take a leap of faith and make a change.
- Other people’s expectations: Claudia explains how her concern about how those close to her would perceive her study and career decisions kept her stuck.
- No such thing as wasted time: Everything you do – study, life, travel, work – gives you insights into what you like and don’t like and provides valuable experiences and skills.
- You’re in charge of your destiny: Claudia credits her parents for supporting her to advocate for herself and to be confident in asking for the opportunities from an early age.
- Being your most confident self: Valuing your unique talents and nurturing it in a way that best suits you and your life, and to build a compelling personal brand.
- The benefit of connectivity: There’s no reason why we shouldn’t all be connected to great people to share experiences, share stories and support each other.
