You can fix or change your career by…
taking control and making confident decisions
Ok, so you may have some inkling about what you’d like to be doing. You might even have been out there trying to make it happen… but, for some reason, things aren’t working.
You are a valuable professional asset.
If I were to take a guess, I’d say you’ve been looking around for other options but there just doesn’t seem to be anything out there that interests you or that matches what you can do.
Getting out of this space requires you to think differently about who you are… and, importantly, to focus on articulating what you want and why you want it.

It’s time to feel CONFIDENT
So you can make the right decisions about what to do next
In order to think and behave differently, you need to feel CONFIDENT about who you are, what’s important to you and the significant value you bring to any workplace.
Why you need to feel CONFIDENT about your career
hello positivity
Do you second guess yourself when it comes to making career decisions?
When you feel confident, you exude a more positive attitude and believe you have an important role to play.
hello motivation
Are you waiting to have more time and energy to feel motivated?
Feeling confident will bring you the positive energy you need to feel motivated and enthusiastic about your career.
hello satisfaction
Feeling anxious and vulnerable severely impacts your professional happiness.
Knowing your professional value leads to increased success, satisfaction and enjoyment of what you do.
Three tips to help you feel confident about the career you want
1. KNOW YOUR VALUE
Every single individual has their own unique professional value… yes, even you.
Others may have similar skills, qualifications or experience as you. But those generic characteristics combined with your personality, beliefs, preferences and motivations makes you unique.
There’s no-one else exactly like you.
In the words of Dr Seuss, “There is no one alive who is you-er than you”.
So start by identifying who you are and what sets you apart from others with the same skills and qualifications.
2. CREATE YOUR CAREER STORY
I know the term “personal brand” seems like another trendy buzzword. And the thought of having to actually develop one might feel a bit icky.
The truth is, others are going to create stories about you whether you like it or not. You’ll be much better placed if you take control and create the story you want to tell.
Developing your personal brand in a way that showcases what you want, what you stand for and what value you provide ensures you’re well positioned to find and be offered the right types of opportunities.
3. Progress over perfection
Things will never be perfect. You’ll never have enough time and there’s no way of knowing what Your external environment is going to throw at you next. Talking about it, thinking about it and even planning it is procrastination that’s keeping you safe… and your career stuck.
If there’s something in your career you want to achieve so much you know you’re going to regret not doing it, you must take that first step and take it now.
What first action step can you take today that brings that ideal situation a little bit closer? You only need one action step. Getting started creates momentum so trust that the next steps will reveal themselves as you need them.
Use your career CONFIDENCE to create an action plan for success
Now you know the value you bring to your work, continue setting yourself up for success by developing an action plan for the year ahead.
How do you integrate your career CONFIDENCE into your strategy to fix or change your career?
1. embrace a new strategy
If it’s been some time since you last attempted to do something completely new or radically different, you might have forgotten that “first steps” are often a bit wobbly or messy.
The thing is you are a valuable professional asset. You have a wealth of knowledge and experience. More importantly, you have what it takes to figure this out.
If all your old strategies, tips and tricks were working, you wouldn’t be in this position feeling frustrated you’re not able to make something happen.
It’s time to think outside the square and experiment with some ideas and options to kick-start your progress.
2. trust the process
Think about it what you’re doing like learning any new skill. Some days you’ll stumble or make mistakes and that’s ok because it’s how things work. Other days you’ll be punching the air having achieved something you previously thought impossible.
Ask yourself…
- What’s it worth to you to feel confident about your career?
- What if you could design a career you love… on your own terms?
- Where would you start? What’s the very first step?
It’s time to stop waiting to feel confident. Taking action is the first step to creating the confidence you’re looking for.

I tried changing jobs, I tried sucking it up. Nothing worked.
I finally realised, designing and achieving a career you love… is an inside job. No-one else can do it for you and there’s no magic answer.
